Call 1

Set your quit date.

When you call, the first person that you will talk to will take your contact information and collect some information about your smoking history. They will then pass you along to one of our certified Quit Coaches. Your Quit Coach will talk to you about building your quit plan, your past attempts at quitting, your past use of smoking medications, and any triggers or stress. You will finish your conversation by finalizing a plan setting a quit date with your coach.

Not only are they trained to give your the best advice possible, but they are often ex-smokers themselves and can relate to your situation.

Call 2

On your quit date.

During this call, your Quit Coach will discuss relapse prevention, how to maintain your quit, how to deal with cravings, and how to establish a reward system for yourself.

Average call time: 30 minutes

Call 3

Follow up on progress.

During this call, your Quit Coach will discuss relapse prevention, how to maintain your quit, how to deal with cravings, and how to establish a reward system for yourself.

Average call time: 30 minutes

Call 4

Final check-in.

On your final call, your quit coach will discuss how to maintain your quit. She will discuss strategies such as medications, substitutions, rewards, staying away from smoke-filled locations and choosing to be with people who don't smoke.

Get ready for your quit date.

It's all about preparing yourself for the psychological impact of the change. We'll show you how to prepare, how to do a practice quit and how to build a checklist for your quit.
Step 2

Decide about medicines.

Should you use medication to help you quit? Is Buproprion SP or a nicotine inhaler better? What are the pros and cons of each medication?
Step 3

Learn coping skills.

Fighting your addiction means learning to cope with the cravings. You will need to deal with all three sides of the addiction triangle: physical, emotional, and behavioral.
Step 4

Choose your allies.

Choose allies to help you during your quit is very important. Think about these who can best support you during this time.
Call 1

This call takes place 7-10 days after call 2.

Your quit coach will discuss long term strategies for maintaining your quit.
This call takes place 3-5 weeks after call 1.
